Abubakar is a Board Member and Chairman of Finance and Administration Committee of ZNCC. He is a lecturer of Finance and accounting at the school of Business of Zanzibar University (ZU). He also works part time at the Institute of Tourism at The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) where he teaches Finance Administration in the Tourism Sector.
